WJEC provides examinations, assessment, professional development, educational resources, and support for adults who wish to learn Welsh and access to youth arts activities. It also provides examinations throughout England as well as Wales.

WJEC’s qualifications include a range of traditional academic and work-related subjects at Entry Level, GCSE and AS/A Level, as well as Functional and Key/Essential Skills.

WJEC provides the Welsh Baccalaureate to schools in Wales at Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced levels. It offers an innovative programme of study incorporating working with employers, community activities, individual investigations and key skills, as well as students’ GCSEs, GNVQs or A level studies.


AQA’s aim is to bring out the best in students and teachers by providing services that lead to inspiring lessons and great learning.

They are a leading provider of qualifications and support for teachers and students and offer a broad range of academic qualifications for 14-19 year olds including GCSEs, IGCSEs, A-levels, the Extended Project Qualification and the AQA Baccalaureate.

Education policy reforms mean GCSEs, A-levels and school performance measures are all changing. They support teachers through this challenging period, so they can focus on their students and the transition to the new qualifications is as smooth as possible.


Edexcel is part of Pearson, the world’s leading learning company which has an educational heritage rooted in names like Longman, Heinemann and Prentice Hall.

Edexcel is the UK’s largest awarding organisation, offering academic and vocational qualifications and testing to schools, colleges, employers and other places of learning in the UK and internationally.

Their academic qualifications include GCSE, GCE (A level) and International GCSE (Edexcel Certificate for UK state schools).

Edexcel vocational qualifications include NVQ and BTEC from entry level to Higher National Diplomas. BTECs are recognised in more than 80 countries worldwide, and in 2009/10 over 1.1 million learners were registered onto a BTEC.


OCR is a leading UK awarding body. They provide qualifications which engage people of all ages and abilities at school, college, in work or through part-time learning programmes.

Their general and vocational qualifications equip learners with the knowledge and skills they need for their future, helping them achieve their full potential.
