Learning Support Assistant

Staffroom Education are currently shortlisting for an experienced Learning Support Assistant in Cardiff. This is a full-time, temporary post beginning in February on going by a termly basis. We welcome applications from Learning Support Assistants who have Childcare qualifications or experience in Primary Education.   

The post is within an English medium school in Cardiff, which has a high ratio of ALN pupils therefore the ideal candidate will have some experience working with additional learning needs or with pupils that have required one to one support.

The perfect candidate for this post will have all the skills listed below:

  •  An understanding of Additional Learning Needs;

  • The ability to support the class teacher and follow planning/timetables;

  • Excellent behaviour strategies;

  • Strong communication skills;

  • The ability to work with groups or pupils or as a one to one basis;

  • Promote positive attitudes towards learning and build strong relationships with staff and pupils;

  • To remain up to date with educational developments and changes whilst undertaking the role;

  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection;

  • A current and clear, fully-enhanced DBS disclosure certificate;

  • Full registration with the Education Workforce Council.
