Secondary Cover Supervisor

Staffroom Education are currently recruiting for Cover Supervisors to work within a number of Secondary Schools in Newport.

With a busy Academic year ahead, these positions are a great opportunity for Newly Qualified Teachers to gain access to schools in the area, and ultimately lay the foundations for permanent Teaching roles moving forward.

All of our vacancies are temporary, meaning that if you are currently studying and interested in working around your timetable, this is an ideal opportunity.

We are looking for bright, enthusiastic and confident individuals who are passionate about working with pupils of all ages. Our schools understand the importance of having excellent people in their classrooms therefore experience within a leadership role is essential. Whether you are a Sports Coach, have been involved in Youth Work, spent time in the Armed Forces, taken part in Summer Camps – anything of that nature – we have roles to suit your background.

What you can expect in the role of Cover Supervisor:

Supervising work that has been left for the class and ensuring acceptable behaviour is maintained; Ensuring any worksheets / books are collected at the end of a lesson and subsequent setting of homework left by the class Teacher; Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person;  Reporting of any disruptive or escalating behaviour, in line with school policy; Ensure that the classroom is left tidy at the end of each lesson; Undertake form/lunchtime/break duties including registration cover, as directed.
