Secondary Teaching Assistants

Staffroom Education have multiple vacancies for experienced Teaching Assistants to work within Secondary Schools in Cardiff.

We are looking for bright, enthusiastic and dedicated people who are passionate about working with pupils of all ages. Our schools understand the importance of having great cover staff in their classrooms and have given us an overview of what is expected of any educator that they employ. The following gives you an idea of what you can expect in the role of a Secondary Teaching Assistant.

Anyone interested in applying should have at least three months recent experience of working within a classroom environment and/or hold a relevant qualification relating to child studies and development.


The role will require you to:
· Have first-class communication skills.
· Be comfortable using your own initiative.
· Help prepare and tidy the classroom before and after each lesson.
· Provide support to both individual pupils as well as group work.
· Support reading groups.
· Assist with administrative tasks.
· Work as part of a larger team of School Learning Support Staff.
· Provide feedback relating to pupil attainment.
· Be aware of the planning and preparation of work
· Assist with the development of basic Literacy, Numeracy and ICT skills
· Work in conjunction to school policies and procedures.
· Be able to suggest new ideas.
